FAQs
I was told my panels are self cleaning
It is believed that panels angled at 27degrees and above are to some extent self-cleaning but not completely. These angles results in slight dust being removed when it rains or you spray it with a hose, however, for removing built up grime like pollution and animal droppings you need to physically clean the glass surface. The majority of systems are less than 27 degrees with many systems at between 10 – 15 degrees, which is great for capturing sunlight. They need to be cleaned regularly.
Will this affect my Warranty?
No. Regular cleaning and maintenance of your panels will generally assist if a warranty claim arises
Do we use Chemicals?
In most cases No. We use Pure Water that is filtered and de-ionised. This will not leave streak marks on your panels and won’t contaminate any rainwater tanks that collect runoff from your roof! If your panels have not been cleaned for an extended period of time we may need to revert to our vinegar and soapy water solution to remove the bulk of the dirt then finish with our pure water system. We will advise you of this prior to cleaning the panels and take appropriate steps to protect rainwater tanks, etc.
